Our Story
We are a church of regular people who have found life in Jesus Christ. We aren't perfect and we don't expect you to be either. We are passionate about our faith and about spreading the good news (the Gospel) of Jesus.
Element Church is a new church located in the Altoona, PA area. In September 2013, Mike Hammer (Lead Pastor) and his family moved to Altoona to plant a church that God will use to transform this community and beyond. Our mission: to help lead generations of people into a growing, thriving relationship with Jesus Christ!
There are over 100,000 people within a five mile radius of Altoona. With only a portion of the current population of this community presently engaging in a church, that makes this area a tremendous opportunity for Element Church to be a life-giving church.
Our desire is to not simply be a collection of people on Saturdays and Sundays, but to be evidence of Jesus through lives well lived. That is the most attractive and effective way of sharing the gospel - with words AND actions (not one or the other).
Element Church officially opened on May 31, 2014. We have already seen incredible things happen, lives transformed and futures changed.
On Sunday, June 2, we celebrated five years as a church as we introduced new ministry initiatives and our desire to make sure our community knows that we are for them, which is the heart behind Element Church being #FORBLAIR. In addition, we announced our intentions to be a multiplying church and are in the early states of launching a second campus in the Huntingdon area.
